Middle School Athletics

Malibu Middle School Sports
Malibu Middle School proudly offers an after-school, interscholastic sports program with 10+ sports each year. Malibu Education Foundation launched the program in Spring 2024 with seed funding support from the City of Malibu. Since then the Santa Malibu Unified School District has agreed to fully fund the Malibu Sports program.

Participation is strong! The Spring Season launched with 130 MMS athletes (nearly half the school) and the Fall season has over 150 students registered - 62% of the school participates in after school sports!

The teams compete in the All Star Sport League partnering with Las Viregenes Schools, a middle school league which allows for the flexibility a small school like Malibu Middle needs, while offering the ability to build a robust, interscholastic athletics program for its students. The sports offerings for 2025-2026 are:

  • Fall Sports: Girls/Boys Flag Football, Girls/Boys Soccer, Cross-Country, Cheer, Girls/Boys Strength and Conditioning
  • Winter Sports: Girls/Boys Basketball, Cheer/Dance, Girls/Boys Strength & Conditioning
  • Spring Sports: Girls/Boys Volleyball, Track & Field, Girls/Boys Strength & Conditioning

The Malibu Middle School Athletics program is a no-cut program to encourage broad participation and multi-sport athletics.
